Aftercare
Following this waxing & sugaring aftercare advice can make all the difference to the results of your hair removal appointment.
Over the next 24-48 hours the key is to keep the area clean and avoid heat and friction. So:

No HOT baths and showers (warm to cool is recommended);

No saunas, steam baths or hot tubs;

No tanning (including fake tan, sunbeds and sunbathing);

Avoid chlorinated water (swimming pools and hot tubs);

No scratching or touching the area;

Avoid excessive perspiration through sport or exercise;

Keep clothing clean and loose fitting and choose natural fibres.
Do not apply any anti-perspirant, deodorants, perfume or lotions to the treated area, other than those recommended for use by your therapist. Keep the area clean using a medicated skin wash and a medicated lotion to soothe and protect the skin. Freshly launder bath and bed linen and wash your hands before applying any products. Use a high factor sunblock on exposed areas before sun exposure.
If this is your first treatment it's possible you may notice some regrowth after a week or so. This is because of your hairs natural growth cycle and it can take up to 4 treatments for the hair to fall into a growth cycle giving the optimal results. Please do not shave or use hair removal creams between appointments. A period of 4-6 weeks is recommended between waxing and sugaring appointments.
Prevention of ingrown hairs
Exfoliation and moisturisation is the key to preventing ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs occur when the hair follicle becomes blocked with oil and dead skin cells, this obstructs the new hair causing it to bend back on itself and continue to grow beneath the skin. Starting 3 days after your appointment gently exfoliate the skin 2-3 times a week with an exfoliating washcloth or body scrub. Moisturise daily.
It's perfectly normal to experience some slight soreness, redness, or raised bumps after a waxing or sugaring treatment. This is a quite normal and temporary reaction (especially if this is your first time) and should ease within 24 hours of your treatment.
